ESG Analyst

Purpose of the role:
This role will work closely with the Head of ESG to provide data which will assist the investment process and to support the fund managers to invest in a way that incorporates ESG factors, and by managing risk and to create sustainable returns.
Key responsibilities:
• Take the lead in writing content for client/consultant ESG questionnaires, marketing materials, and assist with public ESG reporting.
• Assist the Head of ESG with ESG product development.
• Assist with the capture of ESG controversies on a daily and ad hoc basis.
• Assist with the periodic risk reviews, taking a lead on specific strategies.
• Undertake thorough qualitative and quantitative ESG analysis of companies in the firm’s portfolios or being considered for investment; learning from the Head of ESG, work towards being able to give sound advice to help guide analysts on the material ESG issues with or failings of specific companies that are being considered for investment.
• Assist with the development and use of ESG data in integrating the ESG process across the firm’s portfolios.
• Follow global ESG initiatives methodically.
• Draw conclusions from the research and data capture undertaken and articulate them concisely and coherently to aid the ESG team's approach/thinking.
• Provide thoughtful and targeted pieces of ad hoc ESG research as directed by the Head of ESG. • Creating reports or management information and/or attending committees, meetings or working groups as and when required or reasonably requested.
• With sufficient training, become a part of company and client engagement.
Key Skills and Competencies:
• Passionate about ESG, with a strong willingness to learn about different aspects of ESG (topic expertise, as well as integration, voting, company engagement, ESG initiatives).
• Systematic, fundamental, organised approach to work; timely delivery of assignments. • Superior verbal, written, and listening skills;
• Great communicator, able to build good relationships, develop rapport and trust. • Excellent attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, including advance Excel
Experience:
• 2+ years in a relevant experience within an Asset Manager or Consulting business.
