We are recruiting for an Investment Research Analyst to join a dynamic business based in the City of London - and we're looking for an equally dynamic person to join our journey.

The role

This role is part of the Research & Consulting team and will involve working closely with other members of the team. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining the universe of rated funds – undertaking periodic reviews of rated funds by meeting with the managers of such funds and updating our research as necessary.
• Identifying and researching potential new ideas for fund ratings and presenting suitable ideas to the team.
• Writing client reports on funds where required.
• In time, delivering consulting services to clients and taking a lead with key clients.
• Representing the firm by attending conferences and other industry events.

In addition, the role may involve other duties to promote the work of the research team and to assist other teams at Square Mile. These may include:

• Producing articles to be published in trade magazines, speaking to journalists and presenting the company’s investment views.
• Supporting the sales team in their efforts, either by providing relevant information and documentation or by attending client/pitch meetings if required.

Do you have what it takes?

This is an intermediate level position, with the candidate having around 5 years of industry experience. Should the candidate not hold the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) at the time a job offer is made, they will be expected to gain this qualification, in order to successfully complete their probationary period. The appetite to pursue other qualifications, such as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation or the CISI Diploma, would also be desirable.

We're a reasonably small team of people, so you'll also need to be able to build close relationships quickly with your colleagues.
